Review guidelines
Who can write a review
- Reviews are for dealerships only. Private sellers aren't reviewed.
- You need a CARZyro user account with a confirmed email address, and you must have contacted the dealer through CARZyro (Contact dealer, or Message in CARZyro chat). That way every review comes from someone who really dealt with the dealer.
- Reviews marked Verified purchase are from people who told CARZyro they bought a car from that dealer, after the dealer marked it sold. Other reviews are marked Contacted this dealer.
- One review per account per dealer. You can edit it (it's then marked "Edited") or delete it at any time, from any of the dealer's car pages.
- Dealers, their staff and their competitors may not review a dealership.
What a review looks like
- A rating from 1 to 5 stars, an optional title, and your review (20 to 2,000 characters), plus whether you bought a car from the dealer.
- Reviews are public straight away. They show your first name and the first letter of your last name (for example "Sarah M."), the date and the badge above.
- The dealer's average rating and the number of reviews are shown on their car pages and car listings.
What isn't allowed
A review, or a dealer's reply, can be removed only if it is:
- Fake, or not based on a real experience with this dealer
- Written by the dealer, their staff, or a competitor
- Offensive, hateful, threatening or harassing
- Sharing someone's personal or private information
- Not about this dealer or buying from them
- Spam, advertising or links
Links, email addresses, phone numbers and swearing are blocked automatically when a review is written.
Honest reviews, good and bad
- We apply these same guidelines to positive and negative reviews. A review is never removed just because it's negative, and dealers can't pay to remove or hide reviews.
- CARZyro doesn't pay or reward anyone for reviews.
- A dealer can ask a buyer who contacted them through CARZyro to write a review, once. CARZyro sends that invitation, with the same wording to everyone: it asks for an honest review, good or bad, offers nothing for it, and lets you stop all review invitations. A review written from an invitation follows these same guidelines and shows like any other. Dealers may not offer anything for a review or ask only the buyers they expect to be happy.
Reporting
- Anyone signed in can report a review or a dealer's reply for one of the reasons above. Dealers can report reviews of their own dealership.
- A report never hides a review by itself: it stays up until the CARZyro team has checked it against these guidelines.
- If we remove a review or reply, we email its author the guideline it broke. If a dealer reported it, we email them our decision too.
Dealer replies
- The dealership (its owner and managers) can post one public reply under each review, shown as "Response from [dealership]". The reviewer gets an email when it's posted.
- Replies follow the same guidelines and can be reported too.
